Four Wrestling Seasons
2026- FALL FOLKSTYLE 9/7 -11/11
FALL FOLKSTYLE for Middle School & High School wrestlers.
This is the best preparation for wrestlers looking to get a jump on their competition, for the coming school wrestling seasons and/or prep for pre-season National tournaments.
Up-tempo practices focusing on technique, drilling, & live wrestling led by experienced & award-winning Coach Malsberry, who is back with the Ravens Wrestling Club for his 6th Fall Session.
Joining Coach Malsberry in 2026 will be Coach Mark Ryder, another successful former high school Coach (Everett HS).
NOVICE KIDS: 10/15 - 1/31
Youth wrestlers have fun learning the fundamentals in a safe & supportive environment while also enjoying the camaraderie of a competitive team. Youngsters develop athleticism and strength while also gaining confidence, toughness, & resilience.

Cost: $450 includes Club Session & Coaching at tournaments, USA Wrestling Membership, Team Uniform, & Club T-Shirt.
SPRING FR/GR: MAR 3 - MAY 3
This is a premier competition team.
High-flying fun for middle school & high school wrestlers! Tilts, turns, and suplexes in the International styles of Freestyle & Greco-Roman.
3 practices a week: Mon/Wed/Thr 6-8p,
Saturday tournaments culminate in the State tournament. State placers can qualify to represent Washington State on National Dual Meet teams and/or the Nationals tournament in Fargo!

The 2026 Fall Folkstyle Wrestling season is a 6-week session for experienced middle school & high school wrestlers who want to get ready for their school seasons.
Optionally, some Individuals use the up-tempo training as preparation to travel & compete in large national tournaments (TBA) in October & November.

COST: $75 per family - session fee. ($120 if outside of the LWSD)

There are 4 types of memberships. Most wrestlers will only need "Limited Folkstyle"-
Fall Folkstyle Club Session requires (minimum) Limited Folkstyle membership ($20)

Can be easily converted to a Full Athlete membership for Spring Freestyle/Greco-Roman, at a later date.

All USA WRESTLING memberships expire on August 31st each year. Please purchase your new membership prior to enrolling.

NOTE: For athletes 18 years of age OR turning 18 prior to August 31st of 2026, will need to complete a Safe Sports Certification course to be eligible to purchase a USA Wrestling Card. The online course takes approximately 2 hours.
Safe Sport training, developed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, is an educational program designed to prevent and respond to misconduct and abuse in sports by teaching participants to recognize, prevent, and report sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The program, which is required for many members of national governing bodies and sports organizations, includes core and refresher courses for adults and free resources for parents and youth athletes to promote a safe and positive sports environment. The online Safe Sports course is available inside the USA Wrestling Membership area.

Fall Folkstyle
The Ravens Wrestling Club's 2027 Winter Kids Wrestling season is for 2 groups:

BEGINNER & NOVICE
A 4-month wrestling season, for beginner Boys & Girls ages 5 to 14, who have less than 2 years of experience & want to compete individually and as a member of a team!
+ SEASON: October 15, 2026 to January 31, 2027
+ PRACTICE DAYS/TIME: Mon., Wed., & Thurs, 6:00 -7:00 pm
+ COMPETITIONS: The Ravens Beginner/Novice group will compete as a Team in Sunday Team tournaments (#10), as part of the Western Washington Kids Wrestling League. (schedule to be handed out the first week).

Membership in USA Wrestling--the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States, including the Olympics.

Ravens Wrestling Club Novices belong to the Western Washington Youth Wrestling League (WWKWL) -- a group of twelve Northwest-area Youth Wrestling Clubs that host competitions specifically for beginning wrestlers, providing fair & balanced competition for those new to, & learning, the world's oldest and greatest sport.
